OTHER NASCAR SERIES
Introduction:
Except the five main series of racing, other racing circuits are also operated by NASCAR. Majority of the local car racing tracks across Canada and the United States run on the banner of the Whelen All-American Series. Most of the local drivers are equated with each other using the formula, wherein the best nation track champion gets to win the “Whelen All-American Weekly Series National Championship”. This series is divided into as much as four divisions. The champion of each division gets to receive a payout of the point-fund money. In addition, the winner gets to become the champion at the national level.
Miscellaneous:
The base for the racing of stock cars is the Wheelen All-American Series. Three regional racing divisions are sanctioned by the NASCAR. These are the Whelen Modified tour which arrange for car races of the “modified” cars in both the Southern and the Northern divisions and also the Grand National Divisions, in which the car races in Busch East are held as also the Auto Zone West Series. The cars similar to the Busch Series are the Grand National cars despite of their greater power.
Standardization of Rules:
In the year 2003, the NASCAR brought some rules into conformity for the Grand National Divisions as well as the AutoZone Elite. This gave permission for cars in one series to involve racing with the other series cars belonging to one division. The top 10 or the top 15 would race in a one race playoff, which is known by the name “NASCAR Toyota All Star Showdown”. |
