NASCAR HALL OF FAME
Introduction:
The drivers who have displayed good skill and all-time great crew chiefs and owners, and other principle contributors to the game will be honored at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The city of Charlotte, North Carolina was appointed as the location by NASCAR to establish the NASCAR Hall of Fame on March 6, 2006. Hundreds of new jobs and an increase in tourism are promised in Charlotte with the arrival of the new Hall of Fame.
Charlotte’s shot at the Hall of Fame:
The affluence of esteemed drivers and stock car racing’s roots from North Carolina and many teams in the three major series and NASCAR offices are located in the area. The NASCAR is engaged in a total of 73 % of employees involved in motorsports, in the United States that comprise of the committee called the “NASCAR Valley”. Thus Charlotte shot the Hall of Fame and is also considered as the favorite by many commentators and fans. Second factor which helped to win the bid is the truth that, above half of the entire USA population lives within the 500-mile radius of the greater Charlotte region. “Racing Was Built Here and Racing Belongs Here.” is the slogan used by the Charlotte for the Hall of Fame.
Other locations:
Daytona Beach, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia were the other two cities that were considered in the race at the time of announcement. Alabama was also mentioned as the possible expected city, but was voted out, because the International Motorsports Hall of Fame is currently situated in Talladega, which is not affiliated with the NASCAR. |
