Introduction:
DEI Inc. is the abbreviation for the Dale Earnhardt Incorporation. DEI Inc. is a team of NASCAR which was established in the Mooresville town of North Carolina. It was founded in the year 1980. Dale Earnhardt owned the DEI Inc. till the year 2001, when he died due to a crash in 2001 Daytona 500.

Currently, the team is owned by Bobby Gin and Widow Teresa Earnhardt. Bobby Ginn is the partner of the firm. This was done subsequent to the merger of the race team of Bobby Ginn and DEI. The former executive of Sony BMG, Mr. Max Siegel is the manager of the current organization. Presently, the DEI Inc. includes four teams which vie for the NEXTEL Cup. It is the maximum number of teams that are stipulated by NASCAR.
History of Car #1:
Dale Earnhardt had made his debut in the 1996 season of the Winston Cup. In the subsequent year, the standout of the Busch Series, Steve Park drove the car in as much as five car races with the help of the sponsorship from the Burger King. The year 1998, witnessed the swapping of numbers of the cars. Richard Jackson changed his car number to # 1 from # 14. After the failure of Park to qualify for the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the team had a jolty beginning. The subsequent week, witnessed the breaking of leg of Steve Park at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Till such time the Park healed from his injuries, hence the team employed the services of Darell Waltrip. |
